Comprehensive Sourcing & Quality Audit for Overseas Importers

Since 1995, Teratai Furniture has operated as an artisanal manufacturing workshop in Jepara, Central Java—the epicentre of Indonesia’s world-renowned timber carving and woodworking tradition. For over three decades, we have partnered with commercial furniture importers, retail chains, hospitality developers, and architectural design studios across the United States, New Zealand, and Western Europe.

Digital photography and product catalogs cannot fully convey wood density, tactile grain orientation, tensile joint precision, or hand-applied topcoat depth. We welcome international purchasing agents, furniture buyers, and interior designers to tour our operational floors, inspect SVLK-certified timber lots, observe live joinery, and review engineering schematics directly with our master craftsmen.

Direct Technical Dialogue

Speak face-to-face with production supervisors and timber technicians without broker intermediaries.

Material Verification

Inspect legal SVLK supply chains, moisture kiln logs, and Grade A vs. Grade B teak selections.

Factory Floor Benefits

What Professional Buyers Verify On Site

A workshop visit eliminates ambiguity in procurement, ensuring total confidence in structural integrity, timber standards, and export packaging specifications.

Timber Grading & Moisture Testing

Audit our SVLK-verified kiln-dried logs and sawn boards. Confirm targeted moisture content (MC 8%–12%) using electronic pin-meter testing to prevent warping or checking in extreme climates across North American and European destinations.

Mortise-and-Tenon Joinery Standards

Examine our interlocking structural joints, dovetail drawer construction, and mortise-and-tenon framing. See how our craftsmen avoid fast commercial staples and shortcut fasteners, ensuring pieces withstand commercial contract hospitality use.

Finishing Depth & Custom Swatches

Compare hand-rubbed natural oil patinas, polyurethane protective seals, and specialized duco finishes. Bring custom PANTONE or physical wood swatches to calibrate custom multi-layer staining before serial container production runs.

Manufacturing Stages

Inside Our Working Production Lines

Our workshop is a focused manufacturing environment. During your walk-through, you will trace the transformation of raw Indonesian timber into export-ready furniture.

STAGE 01

Timber Prep & Ripping

Initial sorting of solid Tectona grandis (teak) and Indonesian mahogany. Dimensional cross-cutting, edging, and planar dimensioning based on CAD specifications.

STAGE 02

Master Joinery Assembly

Four resident master joiners manually fit sub-assemblies, mortises, floating panels, and concealed solid wood runners, accommodating natural wood expansion.

STAGE 03

Progressive Sanding

Multi-step progressive dry hand and orbital sanding from 120-grit to 400-grit ultra-fine finish, eliminating cross-grain scratches and preparing timber fibers.

STAGE 04

Dual-Stage QC & Pack

Dedicated quality engineers inspect structural tolerance, finish uniformity, and hardware fit before wrap packing in corrugated cardboard and moisture barrier sheets.
